The album More Equal Union was born out of my desire to make a statement about my belief of what it means to be gay and how I should be treated as a citizen of the US. I had been living an unassuming existence until Prop 8 passed in California in November 2008, which has changed my life towards being vocal about advocating for my equal and inalienable rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.
With two plus years of videography behind me (thanks to the San Francisco Fog Rugby Football Club), I parlayed my hobby towards documenting the beginning of our current LGBT civil rights movement as it has taken shape in my hometown of San Francisco, CA.
The following are a few of my more-recognized documentary videos covering our movement.
A candle vigil and rally in support of marriage equality and voting No on Prop 8, held on the evening of Wednesday, November 5, 2008, in front of City Hall in San Francisco. Thousands of people attended the rally, holding lighted candles, to hear a number of speakers and sing a few songs. The video was shown on CNN after I uploaded it onto their iReport website.
Video recap of the "No on Prop 8" Protest March in San Francisco on the evening of Friday, November 7, 2008, from the United Nations Plaza down Market Street through the Castro Neighborhood. The video was shown on CNN after I uploaded it onto their iReport website.
Video of the No on Prop 8 rally held in Sacramento, CA on Saturday, November 22, 2008. The rally consisted of a number of guest speakers and a march around the State Capital Building. About 5,000 were estimated in attendance by the California Highway Patrol.
On November 28, 2008, the city of San Francisco remembered the lives of Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk. It was the day after the 30th anniversary of the assassination of both Moscone and Milk by then former Supervisor Dan White, which occurred on November 27, 1978. George Moscone is remembered as a mayor who supported the disenfranchised people of San Francisco and left a legacy of future politicians that have shaped both the city and the state of California. Harvey Milk was the first ever openly-gay person to be elected to a government position and is greatly remembered as a pioneer of gay rights in the 1970's.
Video of the Eve of Justice candlelight rally and march in San Francisco on March 4, 2009, the evening before the CA Supreme Court heard the court case to invalidate Prop 8. The rally started at Castro & Market, then we marched from there up Market St. towards City Hall where we held a second rally.
Video of the Meet In The Middle for Equality march and rally in Fresno, CA on the Saturday following the CA Supreme Court's decision to uphold Prop 8. Featuring numerous ordinary and famous speakers discussing various issues such as anti-gay bullying at our schools, involving straight people into the civil rights movement, putting marriage equality back on the ballot in California in 2010 and organizing a March on Washington for this October 10-11.

All proceeds will be donated to Lambda Legal to continue the fight for LGBT civil rights.
